Our commitment to transparency

The Safety of Our Staff and Residents

 12/14/2020 Update:

In following the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines, our facility was testing employees bi-weekly for COVID-19. On 12/14/20, one resident tested positive for COVID-19, thus we will be performing a facility wide test every 3-7 days for 14 days according to the outbreak criteria. Once there are no positive cases during this testing period, Rehab Center of South Georgia will return to the positivity rate criteria for testing. We continue to take all precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of our residents and employees.

We join @ahcancal and long term care providers around the country to support the effort to #GetVaccinated for the safety of our residents, staff and communities.

We have implemented stringent infection prevention and control policies and procedures, as this is key to preventing the spread of the Coronavirus within Rehab Center of South Georgia. Our facility has a trained Infection Preventionist who is tracking symptoms, reporting all required information, and making sure our facility is following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The following is a list of measures we are continuing to take:

  • Enhanced infection control precautions
  • Screening residents, staff, and essential visitors for expanded list of symptoms.
  • Restricting visitation and entry of people to the building including family members, contractors, vendors, and volunteers. We will make accommodations for family members whose loved one is near end-of-life.
  • We are ensuring our staff and residents are competent in practicing proper hand hygiene and the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Testing staff and residents for COVID-19 based on current protocols and availability of tests
  • We have stopped communal dining and group activities to reduce the potential spread.
  • Resident Responsible Parties will be contacted if their loved one is suspected or tests positive for COVID-19.

Due to government privacy requirements, we cannot divulge specific information about the individuals who have confirmed or suspected COVID-19, unless they are your family member and you have the necessary permissions to receive such information.

We need your help in battling COVID-19. Please visit the CDC website www.cdc.gov/coronavirus to learn how you can help prevent the spread in our community, since continued spread in the larger community increases the chance the virus will work its way into our facility.

This is a difficult time for everyone. We will continue to provide you with updates. Please know that we are adhering to guidelines from the local and state health departments, which continue to evolve as we learn more about this virus.
